Tuition and Tutor Book
Gillian has been teaching for at least 15 years, and finds great pleasure in working with people who are keen to learn about harp, songs or piano, and is now in demand for one-to-one, group lessons, residential courses and has recently started teaching by Skype too.

Over the years she has accrued a broad range of teaching skills through having taught people of all age groups, abilities, and in various contexts around the world. As well as her harp and piano teaching she also loves sharing songs and teaching mixed-instrument groupwork classes.
She always aims to make learning music an empowering and fun process which allows everyone to bring their own individuality into what they do.

The MG Alba Scots Trad Music awards recognised Gillian's contribution as a nominee in the Music Tutor of the Year category in 2015.
In April 2018 Gillian launched her first collection of teaching material "Scottish Style Harp". This is a collection of some well-known Scottish tunes in Gillian's arrangements, her own compositions and 11 specially written technical exercises which will guide the learner through the technical demands of the pieces. There are also notes and tips on how to develop your technical practice to best suit your own needs. This aims to be a fun and rewarding selection of pieces for lower-upper intermediate players.

Scottish Style Harp is available right here on the shop page. I hope you enjoy it!
